Valentines Day 2010

Valentines day has always been a great fun holiday in my family because my dad would make all of us girls his "valentine" and get us flowers, candies, stuffed animals (the origins of JoJo for those of you who remember him), and all other kinds of goodies. My favorites were the sweet cards, always telling how much he loved us. Mom also made a huge valentines day breakfast- complete with heart shaped pancakes, biscuits, strawberry muffins, and anything else pink or red, including a fully decorated table. Yes, we were that family. And it was great. Something I hope to continue in my house one day.

Although I didn't make a big holiday style breakfast this year (my husband cooked breakfast for me!), we had a great time. Robbie surprised me with a "getaway" treat to the Ross Bridge Resort in Birmingham (www.rossbridgeresort.com)so my mom kept Parker Friday night and off we went. It really is a retreat and there was snow so that made it even better. I am a HUGE believer in making the effort for couple time even after kids. I know it is hard to do, but it is the best thing you can do for your marriage and your children.

And pink tulips, my favorite

We came back and enjoyed time with each other and Parker. All around... great weekend!

Robbie can always make Parker crack up! I really just wish I had also taken a picture of Robbie during his "entertaining" moments!

And here is our little sleepy bug waking up from a nap...And holding his bear "luvie" that he snuggles with. He loves him some luvie blankees!
