Best Christmas present ever

I always get so excited for the holidays. And I know it sounds cliche but I have really had a new perspective this year- just not so focused on shopping and spending and finding all the right gifts as much as the simple things and the real Gift of Christmas. It has been fun being reminded of enjoying the simple stuff this year with Parker. He loves the Christmas tree and all the lights. And I'm sure he'll like the wrapping paper and bows more than anything on Christmas morning so I'm remembering that too. I've had some eye-opening and heart-wrenching experiences with some of the kids at my elementary school that really have helped keep things in perspective and humbled me at what matters. Quite honestly, when you have a kid tell you that all he wants for Christmas is to have his power turned on so he can go back home, it shakes you up. So for what it's worth, remember how blessed you are this Christmas. And that the BEST gift to give is telling others about Jesus. He really is Hope in a world without. That's my best Gift ever.
